A picture is worth a thousand words.Abstract art is defined as “unique and mysterious”, mainly because once you look at abstract art, you probably won’t get the true meaning of it. Abstract art is art using color in an undefined way, sometimes abstract art is expressed using geometrical objects. Color, form, and texture are all characteristics of this unexplainable art.

Abstract art is followed by strong inspirations. Usually painters paint abstract pictures based on their viewpoints of reality. Abstract art is a strong form of art and consists of three different kinds of forms (cubism, neoplasticism and abstract expressionism.)

[History of abstract artist(s)]

Wassily Kandinsky was considered the inventor of non-figurative art. He was a russian painter, printmaker and an art theorist. His fascination with color symbolism and psychology grew. He created the first abstract art piece. Abstract was conducted by the Jewish and The Islamic religion due to prohibition of drawing human form.

Piet Mondrian was one of the most famous cubists. Born on March 7,1872, he was influenced and inspired by what he learned in his Academy of Arts school. The Mondrians were an artistic family. His uncle was a self-taught painter and was commercially successful. Instead of being a teacher, he decided to become an artist. He painted over 250 abstract compositions over his career over his career of 25 years. All of his paintings were recreated towards an equilibrium of form, color, and surface. This was later known as cubism [the process of simplification and reduction]. He simplified the colors and shapes that he saw. He experimented with various paintings, and he was later not painting from nature at all.

[Forms of abstract art]

Abstract expressionism is a painting movement in which the painter applies paint rapidly onto their work. Action painting highlights texture and the movement of the Artist. Artists show their personality through this technique such as their emotions and their individuality. This non-geometrical painting movement is applied with larger brushes. Instead of the artist painting the picture, the painting is painting the artist, which is the main concept of it. This form of art is non-representational, but is very expressive once you look into it.

Cubism is a form of abstract art that involves the simplification of colors and shapes on paintings. Cubism is basically a modern art movement which forms are abstracted. Light and color is emphasized. “Everything in nature takes its form from the sphere, the cone, and the cylinder”-Paul Cezanne.Cubism is usually expressed beyond nature itself. One of the most common cubists is Piet Mondrian, who painted over 250 different paintings (cubism).

Neoplasticism is a form of abstract art which is the belief that art should not reproduce real objects Neoplastic artists believed that this art should be expressed in absolute meaning of life. The absolute meaning of life included primary colors, as well as vertical and horizontal lines. The primary colors include red, yellow and blue. One of the famous neoplastics include Theo van Doesburg.

[Conclusion]

Abstract art is a strong form of art and is still used today. Abstract paintings may not seem like they have a meaning, but you really have to look into it to find the beauty of it. A small geometrical shape can change the whole meaning of the painting, even if you do not realize it. Inspiration and influence is the key to create a successful abstract painting with true meaning. Not only does Abstract Art express beyond reality, but abstract art expresses the artist’s individuality and emotions.
